Dubai Sandstorm

Earlier this week, we had what could only be described as an Arabian sandstorm here in Dubai. For the past few days, it has been relatively clear with good visibility. The sandstorm came through in the afternoon – produced by thunderstorm activity over the Hajar Mountains to the east of Dubai. The storm activity was fueled by cloud seeding operations by the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology to increase the amount of precipitation. 55 mm of rain was the highest in the Al Faqah district between Al Ain and Dubai.
